IND vs NZ 2021: Watch – It Looks Like Patels Are Winning Everything – Axar Patel And Harshal Patel Involved In A Fun Banter

Indian spin bowling all-rounder Axar Patel and fast bowling all-rounder Harshal Patel were engaged in a fun banter after the third T20I win over New Zealand at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Sunday.

Both Axar Patel and Harshal Patel played a major role for India in the three-match T20I series against New Zealand and helped India win the series by 3-0.

Harshal Patel who made his debut in the second T20I at JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi won the ‘Player of the Match’ award in his debut game and the ‘Game Changer’ award in the last T20I game of the series. Also in the third and last T20I Axar Patel won the ‘Player of the match’ award for his amazing bowling spell in the powerplay overs.

In a video shared by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), both the Patels were seen full of smiles. At the start of the video, Harshal asked Axar to give his opinions on his performance in the third T20I game to which Axar replied by saying that he got a lot of help from the surface and he had a lot of fun. He said:

“It feels great to start your over with a wicket. It gives you a different level of confidence. The ball was stopping (off the pitch) and it was spinning, so I was having a lot of fun. That’s why I believe I got three wickets in the Powerplay.”

“It looks like Patels are winning everything,” Axar jokingly quipped

Meanwhile, Axar Patel then asked Harshal about his “Man of the match” performance in his India debut.

Harshal said that it was an exceptional feeling to win the Player of the Match award in his debut and he never expected the debut to be that good. Harshal also said that it “seems like the Man of the Match will stay between us Patels”. He elaborated:

“It was an exceptional feeling. I mean, I didn’t expect the debut match to go this well because all my debuts before today have never been this good. But I executed my skills well and the result was also in our favour and we ended up winning the game. I don’t know, we haven’t decided it but it seems like the Man of the Match will stay between us Patels!”

Also, Harshal was asked what has changed for him in the last two years to which he said that it’s “mainly been in the mindset” as he has got all the skills from the very beginning. He elaborated

“The change for me has mainly been in the mindset. I had all these skills before as well. The mindset change in the last two years has got me the results. And whatever I did in the IPL, I had decided to carry the same mindset in this series. Those things are working for me and I am very happy about it.”
