Indian Cricket Team won the 2nd T20I match by 6 wickets and squared the T20I Series. The Men in Blue chased down the target of 100 with one ball remaining. New Zealand would rue the fact that another 30-odd runs would have given them a chance to seal the series.

The dashing right-handed batter Suryakumar Yadav played a terrific knock of 26 runs in 31 balls where he struck 1 four and showed immense mental application where scoring runs was not easy by any means. It was a collective effort from Indian batters.

Skipper Mitchell Santner was seen struggling while batting as he scored 19 runs in 23 balls where he struck 1 four. Santner rotated his bowlers quite smartly and surprisingly he gave the ball to the part-timer Glenn Phillips who was wicketless but had a pretty decent outing as he gave away 17 runs in 4 overs.

This time Indian batters were watchful against Santner as they played him out. New Zealand won’t be that disappointed with their performance as they almost defended a below par 100 runs. The Black Caps would be hoping that Glenn Phillips shines in the decider as he hasn’t been able to perform to his credentials.

It was a great game of cricket- Mitchell Santner

During post match presentation, Mitchell Santner was asked about the match. “It was a great game of cricket. To get it so close was a great effort from the bowlers. If we’d got an extra 10 or 15, could have been the difference. The calmness of Surya and Hardik to get them over the line was pretty good.” said Mitchell Santner.

120 might have been a good score- Mitchell Santner

We bowled 16 or 17 overs of spin, definitely something different. With the bounce out there, it looked challenging. You are not sure what a good total is. 120 might have been a good score. Rotation might have been the difference.” he added.
