The Indian team includes many young, bright players, but it also has some experienced players to serve as the team’s captain. This game will be a fantastic opportunity for these young players to create a mark on the Indian cricket team, which is currently in transition under the leadership of Hardik Pandya.

The Indian team is missing some key players, including KL Rahul, Virat Kohli, and regular captain Rohit Sharma. Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill will open the innings in the opening T20I game against New Zealand, as per Indian T20I team captain Hardik Pandya. Young and gifted wicketkeeper-batsman Ishan Kishan has been playing well in domestic cricket.

On the other hand, Shubman Gill, who made his T20I debut in the Sri Lanka series, is bursting with confidence following a spectacular performance against New Zealand lately.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been a part of the Indian team setup”: Prithvi Shaw

Prithvi Shaw, on the other hand, will have to wait for his chance. The youthful opener has been playing well in domestic cricket and was thus given a spot in the Indian side as compensation. Shaw will have to wait for his chance because Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill are expected to start the innings.

Prithvi Shaw highlighted his difficult period and return to the Indian team during an interview with the BCCI.

“It’s been a long time since I’ve been a part of the Indian team setup, but I’m glad to be back, and the team announcement came a little late at night, around 10-11 pm. And I saw a lot of messages and calls, and my phone was being hanged, and I was like, what happened? I’m scared as well, and I wondered what occurred. And then I found out I’d been selected for the T20s” Prithvi Shaw said.

Prithvi Shaw expresses gratitude to his friends and family for their support during his difficult time, “It’s been a difficult journey for me over the last 18 months, but the people who have supported me along the way have always been amazing. They are always there for me no matter what, and I’m really grateful for that. My friends, family, and coaches have always been there for me, and I am grateful to have them in my life”

The Indian team, led by Hardik Pandya, will try to extend their winning streak in Twenty20 Internationals.
