Sreesanth is one of the bowlers who was part of the Indian team that won the ICC T20 World Cup 2007 and ICC ODI World Cup 2011 under MS Dhoni. He also played a major role in the 2007 World Cup, where he was one of the leading pacers for India.
Sreesanth is a former Indian seamer who played for the Indian team for six years from 2005 to 2011. He was one of the aggressive bowlers on the field and known for his heated sends-off to batters. Now, he plays in legends leagues for retired players.
Family and Personal Life
S Sreesanth was born on February 6, 1983 in Kerala to Santhakumaran Nair and Savithri Devi. He grew up with his three siblings, brother Dipu Santhan and sisters Divya and Nivedita.
He married Bhuvneshwari Kumar aka Nain Shekhawat in December 2013. The couple has two kids- son Suryashree and daughter Sree Sanvika.
Early and Domestic Career
Sreesanth got a break into the domestic team in 2002 for Kerala team. The right-arm seamer played for the same team till 2022 when he announced his retirement from the domestic circuit. He once picked a hat-trick against Himachal Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy clash.
International Career
Sreesanth made his international debut with an ODI against Sri Lanka in October 2025. He played for India till April 2. Notably, he was part of the ODI World Cup 2011 match that India won and it was also his last game in international cricket.
From 2006 to 2011, Sreesanth played 27 Tests and grabbed 87 wickets at 37.60 average. In 53 ODIs in his career, he claimed 75 wickets at 33+ average. In 10 T20I matches, he got 7 wickets at 41+ average.
IPL Career
Sreesanth was an active member of the Indian Premier League till the 2013 season when he was charged with spot-fixing. The event ended his IPL career and a possible comeback to the national side.
He played 44 IPL games and grabbed 40 wickets for the team. He played for Kings XI Punjab, Kochi Tuskers Kerala, and Rajasthan Royals during his IPL career.
