Meanwhile, with all the focus on PSL, Pakistan’s performance in international cricket have dipped ever since the change of captaincy. Pakistan lost the test series against Australia, followed by the T20I series against New Zealand. That led to Zaka Ashraf vacating his position as PCB Chairman. he was elected just before the World Cup. There are problems for PCB as well who are sluggish with their preparations for hosting the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 for which they won the hosting rights last year.
