India have already clinched the series win against South Africa with victories in the first two T20I matches. The T20I series win against South Africa on Indian soil is the first T20I series victory of the Men In Blue against the Proteas in four attempts.

In the first T20I at the Greenfield International Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday, September 28, India dominantly won by 8 wickets in a low-scoring encounter.

In the second T20I at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Sunday, October 2, the Men In Blue won the match by 16 runs in a high-scoring game.

Star batters Kohli and Rahul have been given a short break ahead of the team’s departure for the ICC T20 World Cup and will not feature in the 3rd T20I match against South Africa. In the absence of star batters, Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer are likely to be included in the playing XI.

The Indian team will depart for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 on October 6. The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022, which is the eighth edition of the multi-nation tournament, is scheduled to be played from October 16 to November 13 in Australia.

Ahead of their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022 opening clash against arch-rivals Pakistan National Cricket Team on October 23 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground, the Men In Blue will play two warm-up games against New Zealand National Cricket Team on October 17 and against Australia National Cricket Team on October 18.
