The India vs South Africa series continues with the fourth T20I in Rajkot on Friday, June 17th. The Rishabh Pant-led side won the third T20I in Vizag to keep the series alive. The series is now nicely poised with two games to go.
Pant won his first game as Indian captain after losing two on the bounce. However, his batting and even his place in India’s T20I side continue to be debated after his recent failures with the bat. The southpaw along with Shreyas Iyer will join the Indian Test squad for the England series. Both of them will not be a part of the squad that has been picked for Ireland T20Is.

India

The India vs South Africa series has been played with all seriousness. After the Proteas won the first two games, India came up with a good performance in the third T20I. Their bowlers especially did a good job to defend 180 as they won by 48 runs. Harshal Patel picked four wickets, Yuzvendra Chahal three. The leggies made a good comeback after he was targeted in the first two T20Is.
Harshal bowled well within himself and his change-ups were hard for the Proteas batsmen to pick. He dismissed David Miller with a deceptive slower delivery which became the moment in the game. The Indian bowlers making a grand comeback after being taken for plenty in the first two games was a great sign for Team India.
India Squad

South Africa

South Africa headed into the third game with injury concerns and thus was under the pump. Quinton de Kock was not part of the playing XI and also Aiden Markram. As it turned out, Markram was eventually ruled out of the series. Unlike the first two games, the Proteas batsmen failed to put up partnerships. The Indian batters have also got a measure of their bowlers which was on show in the last game.
The African side has a record to protect. They have not lost a bilateral series against India in India since 2011. Heading into this series they beat India in a Test and ODI series in South Africa earlier this year. Their approach in the last two games will be an interesting observation.
