Deepak Chahar Was Forced To Leave The Field In Third T20I After Suffering Injury
Bowling all-rounder Deepak Chahar performed brilliantly in the third T20I against West Indies at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata as he dismissed Kyle Mayers and Shai Hope in the 11 deliveries he bowled in the match.
However, he was seen hobbling up in his run-up in the last delivery of his second over and the physio was seen to run onto the field to assist the pacer. After the initial treatment, the pacer was taken out of the ground.
The last ball of Chahar’s over was bowled by all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer and he got smashed for a six.
Meanwhile, the extent of damage of Deepak’s injury is being ascertained and if it’s a tear Deepak Chahar could also miss the first few games of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Notably, he was bought by Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for Rs 14 crore at the auction.
He is currently doubtful for the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka and he is expected to fly to Bengaluru at the NCA to undergo a rehabilitation programme.
