IND vs SL: Watch - Pathum Nissanka Finds An Unfortunate Way To Get Dismissed In 1st T20I In Lucknow

Lucknow is hosting the first T20I of the three-match series between India and Sri Lanka. The hosts headed into this game on the back of a T20I clean sweep against West Indies. On the contrary, Sri Lanka lost 4-1 against Australia. With the T20 World Cup in sight, the series has everything to win for both teams.

India were sent into bat first after Sri Lankan skipper Dasun Shanaka won the toss. The top-order fired with Rohit (44) and Ishan Kishan (89) getting the team off to a brilliant start. They added a 111 run-stand before Rohit was dismissed to a ball which kept low.

Ishan Kishan fell 11 short of what would have been his maiden T20I century. Shreyas Iyer, coming into bat at number three scored a quickfire 57 off 28 balls bringing up his fifty in 25 balls. India ended on 199/2 in their 20 overs with its batting order firing all cylinders.

Sri Lanka, with 200 to win, lost a wicket in the very first delivery of their chase. Lankan opener Pathum Nissanka was dismissed to a delivery that kept relatively low. It took the bottom of the bat and went on to hit the stumps and dislodge the bails in the process. The dismissal brought out a quirky smile from Bhuvi.

The dismissals of Rohit and Nissanka are evident examples of the lack of bounce in the pitch. There have been plenty of deliveries that kept low in the Indian innings. The Lankan innings started off to the worst possible note. The rest of the batting line-up now have the tough task of getting the runs in the game.
