Physio Nitin Patel Set To Be Moved To NCA To Work On Rising Cases Of Injuries To Indian Players: Reports

As per reports in Cricbuzz, Team India physio Nitin Patel is set to be moved to the National Cricket Academy where he will address the rising cases of injuries to Indian players. He will move to Banglore on advice from head coach Rahul Dravid and the BCCI. Patel will work as the Head Sports Science and Medicine at the NCA. His transfer could happen after the ongoing Sri Lanka series.
Recently several Indian players like Suryakumar Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Varun Chakravarthy, Bhuvneshwar Kumar have sustained injuries and had to be dropped from the Indian squads. India all-rounder Hardik Pandya is already working on improving his fitness at the NCA. With the T20 World and 50-over World Cup on the cards, the BCCI is willing Patel to help improve the fitness of these key players.
Nitin Patel To Treat Injured Indian Players At The NCA

Currently, the Indian team has two physios – Patel and Yogesh Parmar. While Parmar is expected to work with the team, the BCCI has opened applications looking for Nitin Patel’s replacement. Besides, the requirement of a physio, the BCCI has also opened up applications for the trainer position (Strength & Conditioning Coaches) of Team India, a position vacated by Nick Webb recently. Members selected for the positions of trainers and physios will be reporting to Patel directly. The BCCI has opened up six positions in total in this category.
Meanwhile, the second Test between India and Sri Lanka starts on March 12 in Bengaluru. It will be a day-night Test match with the Chinnaswamy stadium becoming the third Indian venue to host a Pink-Ball Test match. A 100 per cent crowd capacity will be allowed for the Test match after recommendations from BCCI.

A report in ESPN Cricinfo said that the state government has decided to increase the capacity following approval from the state government to the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA).
“Considering the high volume of response and since there are no further restrictions for spectators, KSCA will be opening up sale of tickets for the full capacity of the stadium,” stated an official release from the association.
