IND vs SL: "It's Disappointing"- Dasun Shanaka After Losing The 3rd ODI Against India

Sri Lankan Cricket Team suffered a massive defeat in the 3rd ODI. The island nation lost the match by 317 runs and got whitewashed in the ODI Series. Not a single batter scored 20 odd runs in the steep chase of 391 runs which is unacceptable in modern cricket.

Earlier, Shubman Gill smashed his 2nd century and scored 116 runs in 97 balls where he struck 14 fours and 2 sixes. Then, Virat Kohli scored a magnificent knock of 166 runs in 110 balls. The right handed batter was in beast mode as he smashed 13 fours and 8 sixes.

Skipper Dasun Shanaka would be utterly disappointed with the team as well as with his own performance. There was no fight and intent from the batters and it looked as if they were not ready for the challenge.  Shanaka managed to score 11 runs in 26 balls where he managed to hit 2 fours.

Sri Lanka would be crestfallen and it won’t be wrong to say that the team needs a bit revamp as the management needs to go back to the drawing board. The island nation lacked the fire in their eyes as the pitch didn’t had that many demons that the team gets folded for 73 runs that too inside 23 overs.

 It’s disappointing- Dasun Shanaka

During post match presentation, Dasun Shanaka was asked about the match. “It’s disappointing. Not the game we would have wanted but it happens sometimes. Bowlers and batters both need to learn. How to pick wickets on these pitches and how to score runs. No idea about that (on the updates about Bandara and Vandersay).” said Dasun Shanaka.

“Playing positive cricket is the key. If the boys showed intent, bowling will be different. While playing international cricket, we need to play with intent. I would like to congratulate Indian team for playing this level of cricket.” he added.
