Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) Records & Stats
The Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL) is a T20 tournament that is held annually in Tamil Nadu. The tournament is organized by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA).
The first edition of the tournament was held in the year 2016. TNCA began the competition after Chennai-based IPL team Chennai Super Kings were suspended for two years in 2015 due to corruption charges. In no time, the TNPL became a huge hit and is now one of the leading domestic competitions in the country.
Eight teams participate in the tournament. The format of the competition sees team participating in a league stage before the top four teams qualify for the playoffs. Chepauk Super Gillies are the most successful side in the history of the tournament with four titles. The only other team to win the competition more than once are Lyca Kovai Kings (2).
