T20 cricket has always welcomed any player disregarding his age and this has created a lot of opportunities for the veterans to keep sticking to the game. Fitness might be a concern, but a 20 overs format might not require the fitness levels needed for a test or an ODI game.
Some players have not announced their retirement despite the age going up and there have been instances of those players making a comeback in international stages. They have proved that age is just a number and here are the 5 oldest players to have played T20Is.

5 Oldest Players To Have Played T20Is:
John Davison:
Davison was 39 years and 277 days when he played in the ICC World T20 qualifier match against Kenya at Dubai on February 10, 2010. He becomes the fifth oldest player to feature in a T20 international and he announced his retirement a year later.
Sunil Dhaniram:
Sunil Dhaniram is the fourth oldest player to have featured in a T20 international as he was 41 years and 116 days old when Canada took on Kenya as part of the ICC World T20 qualifier at Dubai. He was one of the greatest all-rounders in the country.
Sanath Jayasuriya:

Sanath Jayasuriya is another legendary cricketer who dominated the bowling attacks while opening for Sri Lanka. The left-hander was a strong and consistent six-hitter and he played for more than two decades in international cricket.
Jayasuriya has 42 international centuries and he played 31 T20 internationals for Sri Lanka until 2011. The veteran was 41 years and 360 days old when he played the match against England at Bristol on June 25, 2011, and soon announced his retirement that year.
Steve Tikolo:
Tikolo is the second oldest player to have featured in a T20 international as he played at 42 years and 154 days old against Canada at Sharjah on November 26, 2013 as part of ICC World T20 qualifier. Tikolo was also a handy bowler with more than 100 international wickets.
Brad Hogg:

Brad Hogg is the oldest player to have played a T20 international and the left arm chinaman played at 43 years, 34 days) in a T20 international against South at Durban on March 12, 2014. Hogg made his debut as early as 1996 and he always has been under the shadow of Shane Warne and Stuart Mcgill.
Hogg played in the IPL for various franchises until the 2016 season and he was appreciated for his honest efforts despite ageing out. Hogg played 7 tests, 123 ODIs and 15 T20Is for the Australian side in international cricket.
