After returning to international cricket, Yuvraj played a few impressive knocks for India.

However, in ICC T20 World Cup 2014 final, Yuvraj failed to score runs in a crucial match. His slow batting (11 runs off 21 balls) cost India that match. post that, his career went downhill. However, the all-rounder could have played more games for India if he had got backing from skipper Virat Kohli. In June 2019, Yuvraj Singh announced his retirement from international cricket.

During an IPL 2023 game, both players also engaged in verbal banter with each other which is still considered one of the ugliest moments in the Indian Premier League.

Under Virat Kohli’s captaincy, Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma got more backing as openers for team India. Even though Gautam Gambhir continued to perform in IPL, his comeback into the national team was something that never happened.

T Natarajan is one player who has vanished from the national team even after his marvelous performance in the few games he played. Natarajan played 1 Test against Australia during Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2021, in which he picked 3 wickets. He also played 2 ODI games and 4 T20Is matches, in which he picked 3 and 7 wickets respectively.
