The BCCI was to announce the Indian squads for the ODIs and the T20Is on Tuesday but it was postponed due to the unavailability of coach Rahul Dravid and a couple of selectors, who have travelled for almost 24 hours to reach India from South Africa. The selection now might take place within the next two days.
Ravindra Jadeja and Hardik Pandya are still unfit and an update on them is awaited. The sources however say that Jadeja might be fit for the home series against Sri Lanka. In Hardik’s case, the management wants to be patient with him and give him enough time to regain full fitness.
There are a few other possible changes expected in the Indian squads which will be announced for the series. Bhuvneshwar Kumar might be axed from both the squads while Rishi Dhawan and Shahrukh Khan are expected to be included. In Hardik’s absence, the management is expected to give a longer rope to Venkatesh Iyer for the all-rounder’s role.
