Ravi Bishnoi ended with a Man of The Match performance on his debut game for India. He picked 2/17 and was duly awarded for his exploits in the game as India won the match by six wickets. West Indies are now trailing in the series and need to win the next game in a couple of day’s time.

Ravi Bishnoi made his much-awaited debut in Kolkata and presented an exhibition of spin bowling. He kept the likes of Kieron Pollard and Nicholas Pooran quiet during his spell when both of them were looking to go big. It is majorly due to his spell that Windies finished on a below-par total.

“My strength is my length. (on dew) There wasn’t much dew in our innings. I haven’t played a match with a lot of dew so far, but it does affect you. We practice for it though. I didn’t think I would get Man of the Match in my very first match, it’s a dream come true” said the wrist-spinner.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma also spoke very highly of Ravi Bishnoi after his performance in the first game. He spoke about the thought behind bringing the youngster into the playing XI and how to use his potential in the future.

Bishnoi is a very talented guy which is why we drafted him into the squad straightaway. We see something different in him. He’s got lot of variations and skill-set with him. He can bowl at any stage and it gives us a lot of options to rotate the other bowlers. Very happy with his first game for India and he’s got a bright future and it’s just about us now on how we use him” said Rohit.
