India and West Indies are currently playing the third and final T20I at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. India have already won the series having won the first two games and are looking for a whitewash. Windies, on the other hand, are looking to salvage some pride as they are searching for their first win of the tour.
West Indies skipper Kieron Pollard won the toss and yet again asked India to bat first. India have fielded four changes in their playing XI with Ruturaj Gaikwad getting his much-deserved chance. West Indies have also fielded four changes to their playing Xi.
Meanwhile, the visitors are wearing black armbands to honour the death of team doctor Dr. Akshai Mansingh, whose mother passed away earlier today morning in Jamaica. Akshai left the team immediately after the incident. The official Twitter handle of West Indies cricket team posted the news.

Avesh Khan is making his debut for India in this game. The same was revealed by Rohit Sharma at the toss. He also spoke about giving more opportunities to players as India are searching for players who would get into the T20 World Cup 2022 squad.
“Avesh Khan makes his debut. Ruturaj and Ishan will open the batting. There is a lot of cricket ahead of us and the challenge for the World Cup would be to make sure we are mentally and physically fresh. We have an eye on that but at the moment everything looks fine and we are just taking it one game at a time” he said at the toss.
“We are going to bowl first. Nothing much has changed in these last two games, the ball comes onto the bat nicely. We have four changes: Walsh, Fabian, Drakes and Hope come back in. When we look at the two games that we lost, we have batted well but we faltered during our fielding and bowling at the death. It is also an opportunity for the guys to have a taste of the conditions and see what they can offer” said Pollard at the toss.
