Shadab Khan, the all-rounder, and vice-captain of the Pakistan T20I team has stated that he wants the Asia Cup to put smiles back on the faces of Pakistanis who have been devastated by one of the worst floods in their nation’s history.

Pakistan and Sri Lanka are set to take part in the Asia Cup 2022 final match on September 11 at 7:30 IST at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

Shadab stated on the official website of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB): “Due to the exceptional weather conditions, one-third of Pakistan is currently submerged Because we are far from our dear homeland, witnessing the devastation from afar makes it all the more agonizing.”

“We want to win this event so that we may put a smile back on the faces of those devastated by the flood.” We were confident after losing the first match of the tournament against India. And so we emerged. Rizwan performed admirably against Hong Kong, followed by a complete bowling performance that enabled us to secure a confidence-boosting victory.”

Shadab Khan appreciated the leadership of Babar Azam :

Shadab also praised the leadership of prolific hitter Babar Azam, despite his lack of runs in the tournament.

“Babar Azam has taught us a lot, and aside from the amazing team culture he has built, I believe the best aspect of his leadership is that he has instilled in us the never-say-die mindset.” Even if we find ourselves in hopeless situations, we will battle to the last ball.”
