The Return of Ravindra Jadeja is a definite boost to India’s chances in Nagpur:

India’s chances in Nagpur are undoubtedly improved by Ravindra Jadeja’s comeback, but the hosts will begin the major series without their effective middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer.

Iyer promptly reported to the NCA for rehabilitation treatment after being forced to withdraw from the New Zealand series due to a back ailment in an effort to recover in time for the start of the Australia Tests.

Iyer is scheduled to remain at the NCA in Bengaluru and continue working on his rehabilitation program in an effort to be available for the second Test in Delhi, which begins on February 17, even though those keeping track of his fitness status have not yet definitively ruled him out of the Nagpur game.
