Indian Cricket Team had won the toss & opted to bowl first at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. The Aussies were dealt with two massive blows as David Warner was unfit & Alex Carey went back to Australia citing illness. All eyes would be on Virat Kohli as the batter in the 4th Test match of BGT, had struck a fine ton. Virat Kohli will have to bat responsibly in the absence of Rohit Sharma (*unavailable for 1st ODI).

The Aussies had a pretty decent powerplay where they scored 59 runs for the loss of 1 wicket.  The visitors didn’t panic when Travis Head was dismissed in the 2nd over itself. Smith & Marsh looked untroubled when they capitalized on the loose deliveries where Mitchell Marsh was looking in beast mode.

Unreal fielding display by Virat Kohli

At the end of  10 overs, Australia’s score was 59-1. Hardik Pandya was bowling the 11th over and on the 3rd delivery of the over, the ball struck Mitchell Marsh’s pads and ball went towards deep mid-wicket where Virat Kohli run from short cover and was seen sprinting and tried his best to stop 2 runs & reached before the mid-wicket fielder. Australia’s score at that time was 62-1 in 10.3 overs.

Exciting Match on Cards

The Aussies would be aiming to post a score in excess of 280 runs as India has got a lot of all-rounders present in the team. All eyes would be on the skipper Steve Smith to make a statement that he is not done yet after a forgettable BGT 2023 where he didn’t score a single half-century.

Skipper Hardik Pandya would be tested as leading the side in T20I format  & in ODIs is a completely different ball game. Hardik should use Shardul Thakur in short spells as the right-arm pacer has got all the variations to fox the batters with his variations. The Men in Blue would be keen to keep the winning run continue after thrashing Sri Lanka & New Zealand in ODI Series.
