PAK vs AUS: White-Ball Series Between Pakistan And Australia Shifted From Rawalpindi To Lahore Due To Tense Political Situation

The limited-overs series between the Pakistan National Cricket Team and the Australia National Cricket Team has been moved from Rawalpindi to Lahore due to the tense political situation in Islamabad.
The development was confirmed by Pakistan’s interior minister in a press conference earlier on Friday, as reported by ESPNcricinfo.

Meanwhile, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, who is set to face a no-confidence vote next week, is surrounded by a political crisis. The tense political climate has seen both Imran Khan’s PTI, and the joint opposition PDM, commit to bring huge numbers in support for their respective causes towards Islamabad.
PTI has confirmed that they will be bringing close to one million people to D Chowk on March 27 “to express solidarity with the prime minister Imran Khan.” Similarly, PDM has given a call to its workers and supporters to begin a long march towards Islamabad on March 23.
Notably, the spot, where Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has planned to gather one million people, is less than two kilometres away from the hotel where the Aussie and Pakistan teams were supposed to stay.
Rawalpindi Was Set To Host three-match ODI and One-off T20I Series Between Australia and Pakistan
Pakistan National Cricket Team and Australia National Cricket were set to play three-match ODI series in Rawalpindi on March 29, March 31 and April 2, and a one-off T20I on April 5.
Meanwhile, according to reports, Pakistan Cricket Board was reluctant to make changes in the venue for the white-ball series as they thought it would portray a bad image but they anyway decided to shift the venue. Also, there is no confirmation whether there will be any changes in the schedule of the matches.
