England’s young batter Harry Brook revealed his game plan against Australian spinner Nathan Lyon in the much-awaited Ashes 2023 series at home. Harry Brook said that he will try to go all out against Nathan Lyon in the upcoming Test series.

Harry Brook retained his place in the playing XI for the first Test match, which is scheduled to begin on June 16 at Edgbaston in Birmingham. The right-handed batter had success in red-ball cricket, scoring 818 runs in seven Tests with four centuries.

Try And Play All Around The Wicket – Harry Brook

Speaking Ahead of the first Test match, Harry Brook has confirmed that he will respect the good deliveries and punish Nathan Lyon when he bowls poor deliveries.

“If he bowls a good ball then I’m going to respect it. But other than that, I’m going to try and take him on. He could get a lot of wickets, but hopefully we’re going to hit him for a lot of runs,” Brook said.

“I’d like to think I’m a player who can find gaps and hit different gaps, I try and play all around the wicket. I’ll see whatever field he has; I’m sure they’ll probably start with everybody up and we’ll go from there,” he added.

Dream Come True To Be Involved In My First Ashes – Harry Brook

The 24-year-old expressed his delight to be part of the England team in the most prestigious Ashes series and said that it inspired him in his childhood.

“It’s definitely a dream come true to be involved in my first Ashes. I was growing up watching the very best players from England and Australia facing each other,” he further stated.

“Obviously the 2005 Ashes was a big one. I can always remember the over (Andrew) Flintoff bowled to (Ricky) Ponting and KP (Kevin Pietersen) smacking it everywhere against (Shane) Warne and (Glenn) McGrath, those boys.”
