Sri Lanka Women's National Cricket Team skipper Chamari Athapaththu achieved a massive feat in the history of the women's Asia Cup. The star batter became the first-ever player in the history of the tournament to score a century.
Chamari Athapaththu achieved the feat in the ongoing game of the tournament against the Malaysia Women's National Cricket Team. The 7th match of the game between the teams is underway at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium in Dambulla on Monday (22nd July).
Sri Lanka Women National Cricket Team skipper Chamari Athapaththu opened the innings and went after the Malaysia bowlers right from the start. The Southpaw, who has been in the golden touch, made sure that he continued his fine form and took his team to the big total.

Chamari Athapaththu and Anushka Sanjeewani stitched together a 115-run partnership for the third wicket. Their rollicking partnership took the game away from the Malaysia Women's National Cricket Team as they ensured that the team got a big total on the board in the important game in the Asia Cup.
Chamari Athapaththu went berserk in the death overs and took the attack to Ainna Hamizah Hashim, hitting her for a four followed by two sixes. After that in the last over, she took Aisya Eleesa to the cleaners in the 19th over and ended the innings on high with her brutal batting.
Chamari Athapaththu brought her century in the last over as he achieved the feat in 63 balls. She completed the ton on the third ball of the last over with a massive six-over long-on to make history in the history of the tournament, becoming the first player to hit a century in the Asia Cup.
Chamari Athapaththu ended with an innings of unbeaten 119 off 69 balls with the help of 14 fours and seven sixes. She batted with a strike rate of over 172 her sensational innings saw Sri Lanka posting a big total of 184 in 20 overs.
This was Chamari Athapaththu's third century in T20Is. She slammed two centuries against Australia and Scotland. She also has the first century by the Sri Lanka Women's National Cricket Team in the T20I. This was also her career-best knock in the history of the shortest format.
