Delhi Capitals (DC) has declared all the members who have been retained by the team ahead of IPL Auction 2025. IPL 2025 is all set to witness a mega auction and all the teams have started their preparations for the IPL Auction 2025.

BCCI has increased the salary cap of each franchise for IPL Auction 2025. This season, every franchise has a total of Rs. 120 crores in their purse. Out of this, they can utilize a maximum of Rs. 75 crore for retentions.

Every franchise can retain a maximum of 5 capped players and 2 uncapped players ahead of IPL Auction 2025. Out of these, the price for uncapped players is Rs. 4 crores. For capped players, the first players will get Rs. 18 crore, the second will get Rs. 14 crore, and the third will get Rs. 11 crore.

The fourth and fifth should get Rs. 18 crore and Rs. 14 crore respectively, if the franchise goes ahead with five retentions. However, the franchise can distribute Rs. 75 crore among these players differently but the amount should not exceed Rs. 75 crore in total.

Delhi Capitals failed to qualify for playoffs last season

Last season, DC skipper Rishabh Pant made a comeback to the side after missing the prior season. However, he could not lead the team to the playoffs once again.

Delhi Capitals eventually finished in the 6th spot in the points table with 14 points. Out of 14 games, the Rishabh Pant & Co. won 7 games and lost 7, equal to that of 5th place CSK.

DC is one of the few teams who have not won an IPL title ever. They reached the final in the 2020 season, which was their best show to date. They last reached playoffs in the 2021 season, where could not reach the final.

Rishabh Pant rocked with the bat on his comeback last season

Notably, Rishabh Pant made a comeback to the field after 14 months last season. Due to a car accident in December 2022, he went through a long recovery period and could not arrive on the field.

The left-handed batsman slammed 446 runs in 13 games averaging 40+, and slammed 3 half-centuries. He also held an impressive strike rate of 155+ with a top knock of unbeaten 88*.

Tristan Stubbs (378 runs) and debutant Jake Fraser-McGurk (330) were other members on the list with a wonderful batting show for DC. In the bowling zone, left-armer Khaleel Ahmed and right-arm pacer Mukesh Kumar clinched the most 17 wickets.

Spinner Kuldeep Yadav followed them with 16 wickets in 11 games. All-rounder Axar Patel impressed for Delhi Capitals with both bat and ball, hitting 235 runs and getting 11 wickets across 14 games. Hence, there were the top performers for the management from last season ahead of finalizing their retained players for IPL Auction 2025.
