Former India National Cricket Team keeper-batter Dinesh Karthik has named his Indian XI for the first Test against the Bangladesh National Cricket Team. The first game between the teams is just one sleep away from now and will take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The first Test against Bangladesh will mark the beginning of a Test season for the India National Cricket Team. The team will be playing 10 Tests next and it will be deciding the fate of the Rohit Sharma-led side in the ICC World Test Championship.

India National Cricket Team have been putting in the hard yards. Since the last few days, they haven't put a foot wrong and are making sure that they look at every single thing before heading into the first game. The hosts are undefeated at home for a long and they surely will be the favorites.

With India vs Bangladesh's first Test around the corner, Dinesh Karthik came up with his prediction for the Indian XI. What caught the attention of many was the former keeper-batter didn't pick Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel, as he went with just two spinners on the Chennai track, which is known as a paradise for spinners.

Karthik went to pick skipper Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal as the two openers in the team. It's almost certain that they will be opening the innings, as the team doesn't have any other specialist opener. Also, they have been the best openers for the team and played magnificently well in the England series.

Shubman Gill was picked at No.3 by Karthik. The batter, after the ICC World Test Championship final in 2023, took a new position in the team. He was India's second-best batter in the Test series against England, scoring over 450 runs in the 5 games that he played.

Virat Kohli will no doubt be batting at No.4 and Dinesh Karthik also believes that. It will be a comeback series for the senior batter, having missed the Test series against England. He would be keen to make an impact for his team and get some runs under his belt before important games ahead.

Dinesh Karthik went on to pick KL Rahul and Rishabh Pant over Sarfaraz Khan and Dhurv Jurel, who were stars for the team in the England series. Rahul will also be making a comeback as he, after the first Test against Three Lions, got injured and missed the remaining four games in the series.

On the other hand, this will be for the first time since December 2022, Rishabh Pant will be featuring for India in the Test. He faced a horrific accident and then missed cricketing action for more than one year.

Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja are the two spinners picked by Dinesh Karthik. He also went with Akash Deep, who impressed many with his performances in the first round of the Duleep Trophy 2024, as the third seamer in the team, along with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj.
