Durban is all set to host the IND vs SA 1st T20I on Sunday, December 10. The match kicks off an all-format series between India and South Africa. All the matches start at 7.30 pm IST. The next two T20Is will be played in Gqeberha (December 12) and Johannesburg (December 14).

India will be led by Suryakumar Yadav who was retained as the captain after he led India to a win in the T20I series against Australia. Ravindra Jadeja is the vice-captain for the T20I series. Deepak Chahar and Jadeja are yet to join the team due to different reasons and will join the team ahead of the first game on December 10.

Almost all the players who played in the Australia series are part of the T20I series against South Africa. Shubman Gill has been rested for the ODI and T20Is. Hardik Pandya is still nursing his ankle injury while Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have asked for some rest from the board.

South Africa will be led by Aiden Makrkarm in the T20I series. Quinton de Kock who has retired now from ODIs and Tests is rested from this T20I series. Kagiso Rabada and Anrich Nortje jas also been rested. Thus Gerald Coetzee will be the bowler to watch out for. Lungi Ngidi and Lizaad Williams are the other pacers. Two new faces have been added to the T20I squad as well.

The T20I series continues the preparations for the two teams for next year’s T20 World Cup. India reached the semi-finals of the T20 World Cup 2022. They lost their league match against South Africa in the campaign. Overall, in 24 T20I matches, South Africa have won games while India 13.

The IND vs SA 1st T20I starts from 9.30 pm IST which is 6 pm local time. The venue has hosted 22 T20Is with 11 matches won by the team batting first and nine chasing. The average first innings score at this venue is around 150 which drops down to 130 batting second.

Speaking about the weather conditions, thunderstorms are expected in the morning on Sunday. Rain is expected to play spoilsport in the evening along with dark clouds. There is a 75 percent chance of rain during the match. The temperature will be 20 degrees in the evening with 100 percent cloud cover.
