Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will look to bounce back in IPL 2024 after their miserable show last season. SRH finished in the last spot in the points table last season, with just 4 wins across 10 games. During the IPL 2024 auction, SRH needs to buy powerful players to add strength to their squad.

Ahead of the IPL 2024 auction, SRH has released 6 players from their squad. However, they dropped some expensive players and have Rs. 34 crore funds available with them. 5. Mujeeb Ur Rahman

SRH has parted ways with spinners Adil Rashid and Akeal Hosein. Hence, they might go after a spinner in the auction. They can target Mujeeb Ur Rahman. The Afghan spinner last played in IPL 2021 for Punjab Kings. He was absent from the 2022 and 2023 seasons. However, with his good show in the recent ODI World Cup, the Afghan spinner can grab attention in the auction.

4. Mohammad Nabi

Mohammad Nabi is another spinner SRH can go after. Nabi is a spin all-rounder. In the recent World Cup, he could not impress with the bat. However, he picked 8 wickets in 9 games at a superb economy of 4.13. He was also part of the SRH from 2017 to 2021 seasons. In 17 games across 5 seasons, he picked 13 wickets at economy 7.14 and hit 180 runs at a strike rate of 151+.

3. Daryl Mitchell

Sunrisers Hyderabad can also target Daryl Mitchell in the IPL 2024 auction. Last season, they faced a lot of issues in the middle-order. Batters like Rahul Tripathi, Mayank Agarwal, Aiden Markram, Abhishek Sharma, and Harry Brook had batting averages below 30. Hence, they might pick an in-form middle-order batter like Daryl Mitchell. The Kiwi batter showed a wonderful form in the recent ICC World Cup 2023.

2. Rachin Ravindra

Rachin Ravindra has become a popular name in India after his stint in ODI World Cup 2023. The Kiwi all-rounder slammed 3 centuries and 2 fifties in his debut World Cup. He was the highest run-getter for New Zealand in the tournament with 453 runs in 10 games. The left-handed batter can play as an opener or in middle-order.

1. Travis Head

SRH also faced issues with the opening slot last season. In some games, they played Harry Brook. Later, they shuffled players to find a perfect opener for the team. Abhishek Sharma and Mayank Agarwal are the only two options for openers for SRH now.

Both of them failed to provide good opening starts to the team last season. While Sharma had a batting average of 20.55 across 11 games, Agarwal had an average of 27.0 across 10 matches. Hence, picking a dominating opener like Travis Head could help the team in the next season. Head has played himself in the Rs. 2 crore salary bracket.
