Veteran Pakistan all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez has withdrawn his name from the upcoming Bangladesh series, and Iftikhar Ahmed has been named as his replacement.
The real reason behind Hafeez opting out of the series is he wanted a youngster “to perform and gain international experience and exposure” in his place.
Pakistan tour of Bangladesh will consist of three T20 International games at Dhaka’s Shere Bangla National Stadium from November 19 to 22. After that, the teams will lock horns in the 2-match Test series, first in Chattogram from November 26 to 30) and second in Dhaka from December 4 to 8.
Talking about the journey of Babar Azam-led Pakistan National Cricket Team in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021, it has been just exceptionally good. As Pakistan were able to win all 5 games in Group 2 and they topped the chart, and now they will lock horns with Australia in the semi-finals on November 11.
On the other hand, Mahmudullah-led Bangladesh lost all 5 games in Group 2 and were knocked out of the tournament.
However, Bangladesh have been successful in making it to the top 8 of the T20 rankings, and they are directly qualified for the Super 12 round of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.
