Virat Kohli, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, and Steve Smith. All these cricketers have represented their country across all three formats of the game.
In a recent exclusive interview with Crictracker, New Zealand spinner Ajaz Patel has revealed the names of four new cricketers who he expects can be the next generation of superstars.
Shubman Gill and his former opening partner were picked in the Fab Four
Previously, the Fab Four included only one Indian player, while also having three more players from England, Australia, and New Zealand, respectively. However, this time around, two players of the four announced by Patel are of Indian origin.
One of them is India's current Test skipper, Shubman Gill, who recently played in the 5-match Test series in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. The batter broke several records with 754 runs in the series and a historic double hundred at Birmingham.
Alongside Shubman Gill, the New Zealand spinner has also named Indian youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal in the list of four cricketers. Jaiswal averages a stunning 50+ in Test cricket, while he also possesses an explosive strike rate of 164.31 in the shortest format for India.
The batter is yet to make his debut in ODI cricket, but his impressive form in the other two formats has earned him this reputation. Shubman Gill is also cited as the probable skipper of the Indian team across all formats.
England's white-ball skipper has also been included in the Fab-4
Ajaz Patel's most interesting pick came in the form of the English white-ball skipper Harry Brook, who started his international career back in 2022 and, since then, has been unstoppable in the longest format of the game.
Brook has been a credible cricketer in the white-ball formats as well, and he often switches his mindset from the white-ball formats to Test cricket. He has been cited as the future of English cricket by many legendary cricketers.
Recently, he was also named the skipper of the England white ball sides, replacing Jos Buttler, and he won the Player of the Series for England in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
Ajaz Patel names countryman Rachin Ravindra to replace Kane Williamson in Fab-4
The former Kiwi captain, Kane Williamson, who was part of the previous Fab-4, will be replaced by another Kiwi, according to spinner Ajaz Patel. He has picked Rachin Ravindra as the futuristic Kiwi player.
The left-handed batter has a solid technique and has performed very well for New Zealand since his debut in 2021. He has played 17 Tests, 33 ODIs, and 30 T20Is for New Zealand. His most well-known performances came in the 2023 ICC World Cup and the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy.
The Fab Four picked by Ajaz are: Shubman Gill, Rachin Ravindra, Harry Brook, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.
