Former Indian cricketers Virender Sehwag and Navjot Singh Sidhu fought on Live TV while commentating during the 21st match of the ongoing IPL 2025 between Lucknow Super Giants and Kolkata Knight Riders at Eden Gardens in Kolkata on Tuesday, April 8.
Navjot Singh Sidhu is known for his colorful and poetic commentary, blending humor and wit perfectly with the on-field actions. However, during the IPL 2025 clash between KKR and LSG, Virender Sehwag managed to outshine the veteran broadcaster with his sharp jibe.

As Sehwag is known for his straightforward, playful, and blunt commentary style, the former Indian opener didn’t take time to launch a sharp attack on Sidhu when he was singing his own praises at the commentary box during the KKR versus LSG encounter in Kolkata.
As the discussion was going on, Sidhu said, “No matter what you do, I stand by my word. I'm true to my word and never back down” before reminding Sehwag of the famous historical line “raghukul reet sada chalee aaee, praan jaaye par vachan na jaee.”

After listening to Sidhu’s long-winded talk, Virender Sehwag exposed it all with just one line in perfect Viru style. Openly trolling Sidhu for his fickle emotions, Sehwag said, “We’ve seen how firm you really are. In every IPL match, your emotions change from one innings to the next.”
And the funniest part was that the former Indian batter and commentator Aakash Chopra, sitting between Virender Sehwag and Sidhu, was thoroughly enjoying their banter from both sides. Now, the clip of Sehwag’s bouncer on Sidhu’s face is going viral across social media platforms.

Captain Ajinkya Rahane led the way with a blazing 61 off 35 balls, hitting eight boundaries and two sixes against the LSG. Venkatesh Iyer also played a solid knock of 45, while Rinku Singh tried to pull off a late miracle with a fiery 38 off just 15 balls at number eight.
However, their combined efforts couldn’t take KKR over the line at home. Earlier, LSG piled up a massive 238/3 after being asked to bat first at Eden Gardens. Nicholas Pooran yet again stole the show with an unbeaten 87 from just 36 balls. Mitchell Marsh also played a stunning knock of 81 off 48 balls, while Aiden Markram chipped in with 47 from 28 deliveries.
The trio dominated the KKR bowlers throughout the innings to help LSG post the challenging total that just proved out of reach for the hosts. With this win, Lucknow jumped to the fifth spot while KKR slipped to the sixth position in the IPL 2025 points table with 6 and 4 points, respectively.
