Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mitchell Starc shared a warm and friendly moment after a nail-biting IPL 2025 clash between the Rajasthan Royals and the Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 16. The match went down to the Super Over, where Mitchell Starc’s remarkable performance helped Delhi Capitals secure a narrow win over Rajasthan Royals to take them to the top of the IPL 2025 points table.
Starc and Jaiswal, who’ve crossed paths multiple times in recent months — including ten battles during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 in Australia — left behind their on-field rivalry and had a heartwarming conversation in Delhi that’s going viral on social media.
Yashasvi Jaiswal and Mitchell Starc’s heartwarming moment wins hearts after IPL 2025 thriller
Not long ago, Jaiswal had cheekily sledged Starc during the Perth Test, teasing him for his pace by saying, “You are coming too slow.” But the Australian speedster had the last laugh, as he dismissed the young Indian opener three times in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.
But this time, there were no taunts or tensions between the duo. After the DC versus RR match, Jaiswal approached Starc, who was having a chat with his former KKR teammate Nitish Rana, and congratulated the pacer for his outstanding performance, showing the spirit of the game.
In the viral video, Yashasvi Jaiswal told Mitchell Starc, “Legend, how are you? Very well done, very well bowled.” To which the Australian star said, “Hi, youngster. I’m good, thank you.” Starc then went on to ask, “How are you doing?” while the duo shared a warm hug.

Mitchell Starc’s nerve of steel powers Delhi Capitals to Super Over victory over Rajasthan Royals
Meanwhile, Mitchell Starc delivered one of the most memorable performances of IPL 2025, helping Delhi Capitals pull off a thrilling win against Rajasthan Royals. With Rajasthan needing just nine runs in the final over, Starc stayed calm under pressure and defended the target, pushing the match into a Super Over when the Royals seemed set for victory.

Starc bowled another excellent spell in the Super Over, giving away just two boundaries, as Rajasthan could only manage 11 runs. In reply, KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs kept their cool, finishing the job with a boundary and a six to give Delhi their first win at the Arun Jaitley Stadium this season.
Earlier, chasing 189, Yashasvi Jaiswal (51 off 37) and Nitish Rana (51 off 28) had Rajasthan in a strong position. But DC bowlers fought back brilliantly to tie the game at 188/4. Delhi posted 188/5 on the board, thanks to quickfire contributions from Abishek Porel (49), Axar Patel (34 off 14), and Stubbs (34* off 18) after being asked to bat first by RR.
The Royals will now face Lucknow Super Giants in their next IPL 2025 match on Saturday, April 19, in Jaipur. On the other hand, Delhi will take on Gujarat Titans on April 19 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad in their next match in the ongoing tournament.
