Yashasvi Jaiswal reveals what Vaibhav Suryavanshi was telling him while smoking Gujarat bowlers

Rajasthan Royals (RR) youngsters Riyan Parag and Yashasvi Jaiswal heaped praise on the youngest IPL centurion, Vaibhav Suryavanshi following the IPL 2025 match against Gujarat Titans (GT).

Parag said that scoring a hundred at the age of 14 in your first IPL season is something unheard of in any league around the world.

Vaibhav scored 101 runs off 38 balls, including 11 sixes and seven fours, at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Thursday, April 28.

Rajasthan Royals chased down a 210-run target in just 15.5 overs. The 14-year-old reached his century in only 35 balls, becoming the fastest Indian to score an IPL ton, breaking Yusuf Pathan’s 15-year-old record. The left-hander also reached his fifty off just 17 balls, the fastest in the IPL 2025 season.

Suryavanshi formed a 166-run opening stand with Yashasvi Jaiswal. He was dismissed for 101 off 38 balls by Prasidh Krishna in the 12th over. The Royals only needed 44 more runs to win with 49 balls remaining. Jaiswal (70 off 40 balls) and Riyan Parag (32 off 15) guided the team to victory in the 16th over.

In a video posted by the official IPL handle on X (formerly Twitter), Riyan Parag was amazed by Vaibhav Suryavanshi's incredible knock. Parag further added that Suryavanshi's performance against world-class bowlers like Rashid Khan, Prasidh Krishna, and Mohammed Siraj was extraordinary.

"Getting a 100 in your first year when you're 14 years old, that's just something unheard of. You don't really hear that anywhere in the whole world, any league, any country, whatever it is," said Parag.

"You've seen what he can do in practice, but then coming out here, like I said in the interview, against world-class bowlers like Rashid, Prasad, and all of these guys like Siraj, coming out and doing what he did, it's just something you don't see every day," he added.

Yashasvi Jaiswal described Vaibhav Suryavanshi's performance as incredible. Jaiswal said that he was enjoying the other end while watching Suryavanshi hit the ball so effortlessly. He hoped the 14-year-old would continue delivering such remarkable performances for years to come.

"I think it's just incredible. As I said, he was unbelievable today. And I was enjoying the other end, the way he was hitting the ball," said Jaiswal.

"It's wonderful to see someone like him coming from a really humble background and working really, really hard. From what I’ve seen of his preparation, it’s incredible that he can come and deliver like that. I hope he continues doing what he’s doing for a long time," he added.

Rajasthan Royals secured their third victory in 10 matches. They are eighth in the points table with a net run rate (NRR) of -0.349.
