Team India batting coach Vikram Rathour has penned down a heartfelt post for captain Rohit Sharma after the win in the recently concluded ICC T20 World Cup 2024.

Rohit Sharma led India to victory in the ninth edition of the T20 World Cup, thus ending the nation's long wait for an ICC trophy. India had not won the T20 World Cup since 2007 while their last victory in an ICC competition came way back in 2013.

The veteran batsman led the team from the very front in the competition as India won the tournament without losing a single game. India won three of their four group games while one was abandoned due to a wet outfield. In the Super 8s, India defeated Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia. Rohit Sharma had played a stunning knock of 92 runs against Australia.

In the semifinal, he scored a brilliant fifty on a tough pitch as India beat defending champions England by 68 runs to qualify for the final of a T20 World Cup for the first time since 2014. The Men in Blue went on to beat South Africa by 7 runs in a thrilling final to clinch the trophy.

Rohit Sharma has been receiving praise from all over for his leadership in the T20 World Cup. Not only the Indian cricket fraternity but fans and experts from other countries have also heaped praise on him for the way he led the team. And Vikram Rathour has also hailed him as a leader.

Taking to Instagram, Rathour posted a couple of photos of himself posing alongside Rohit and wrote that the India captain's action inspired others as well. Praising Rohit for his leadership, Rathour wrote: "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more,do more and achieve more. You are a leader. 🙏🤗 well done skipper."

Rohit Sharma retires from T20Is:

Rohit Sharma has announced his retirement from T20Is. The India ODI and Test captain announced his decision during the post-match press conference after the final. Rohit has finished his T20I career as the highest run-scorer in the format. He scored 4231 runs in 159 games with the help of a record 5 centuries and 32 half-centuries.

Rohit is also the second-highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup with only Virat Kohli ahead of him. Meanwhile, he is not the only Indian player to retire from T20Is after the World Cup win. Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja have also brought down the curtains on their T20I careers.
