Pakistan cricket team’s star wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan found himself in hot water by involving himself in the ongoing saga between a fan and Haris Rauf on the social media platform.
Rizwan extended his support to Rauf over his fight with a fan in the USA, but only to put himself on the radar of the Indian fans. On Tuesday, June 18, Rauf was abused by a Pakistani fan in the USA, but Rizwan mentioned India in his X post that he posted in support of his Pakistani teammate.

For this, Rizwan has now been facing backlash from Indian fans on social media for dragging India into the matter. The Pakistan wicketkeeper has been brutally slammed by the Indian fans on his X post.
Notably, a video featuring Rauf confronting a fan has gone viral on social media. The footage shows Rauf jumping across a hedge on a sidewalk to face the fan, who was wearing a Pakistan jersey. The incident began after the fan allegedly hurled abuses at Rauf's father, triggering the Pakistani pacer’s anger.
In the video, an angry Rauf can be seen asking the fan, “How can you abuse my father?” as his wife attempts to calm the cricket down. However, after Rauf’s heated confrontation with the fan, the tense situation was somehow diffused by others.
There were a lot of mixed reactions to Haris’ heated exchange with the fans. Following the online uproar, Rauf took to X (formerly Twitter) to explain his side of the story. In a brief note, the star Pakistani pacer stressed that he will not tolerate any form of disrespect towards his family.

Well, the nationality of the fan became a focal point of the whole episode. In the video, Rauf is heard saying, “How can you abuse my father?” followed by, “Indian hi hai yeh” (he is surely Indian).
However, the fan clarified that he is from Pakistan, prompting Rauf to respond with, “Pakistan se hai, fir bhi yeh teri haalat hai” (This is your situation despite being from Pakistan).
The incident has sparked a widespread debate on social media about Rauf's reaction and the behavior of the fan. While some support Rauf's stance on defending his family's honor, others believe the situation could have been handled differently.

Well, Rauf has found another supporter in Rizwan. The Pakistan wicketkeeper strongly condemned the actions of a fan and criticized his behavior towards an international player, saying such appalling behavior must be stopped.
Rizwan said that it does not matter if the fan is from Pakistan or India; the lack of manners and values was disgraceful, and no one has the right to act the way they did to Rauf. His post triggered Indian fans’ fury, slamming Rizwan heavily on X.
Mohammad Rizwan posted on X: “It is irrelevant whether the person who disrespected Haris Rauf was from Pakistan or India. What truly matters is that this individual lacked values and manners. No one has the right to disrespect any human being, especially in front of their family members. Such appalling behavior must be stopped. Values like tolerance, respect, and compassion are increasingly rare commodities.”
