Afghanistan take on Zimbabwe in the second of the three T20Is in Harare on Sunday, June 12. The visitors are leading the series 1-0 after winning the first T20I by six wickets.
Afghanistan last played an ODI series against Bangladesh in February-March 2022. In the three-match ODI series, Afghanistan lost the first two games and then won the 3rd one. Hence, Afghanistan lost the series 1-2 against Bangladesh.

Afghanistan chased down 160 required to win in the first game as it was a complete team performance from the visitors. Skipper Mohammad Nabi was batting the other end when Najibullah Zadran hit the winning runs for Afghanistan.

Afghanistan are coming into this series after winning the ODI series against Zimbabwe before the series. The senior players in the squad like Nabi. Rashid Khan and Zadran have taken up the responsibility up to themselves to make it work for their team.

Zimbabwe last played an ODI series against Sri Lanka. During the away tour in January 2022, Zimbabwe played a total of three ODI games against Sri Lanka. Zimbabwe lost 2 games and won only 1. Hence, they lost the ODI series 1-2.
Hosts Zimbabwe are finding it tough to buy a win. They were whitewashed in the ODI series and are staring down the barrel in the T20Is as well.
