Of late, especially, after the emergence of youngsters in the 50-over format, India has certainly seen greater heights on International arena. During the course, India neglected few former superstars who might not get any more chances.

Indian Cricket has become the most accomplished side in the recent past and making a comeback in the side became next to impossible. Meanwhile, these 4 Indians might not get a chance to showcase their skills unless any surprise decisions from the selectors.

Here are they:

4. Parthiv Patel:

The experienced Indian player might not do Indian blue Jersey any more. He made his debut at the age of 17 years and his stroke-filled knocks ensured that India are going to get one more master blaster.

However, things didn’t go in Gujarati batsman way. Parthiv Patel failed to be consistent in his ranks was eventually, replaced by the former skipper of India, Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

As MS Dhoni is strong enough in his shoes as a three-dimensional player, Parthiv never got the chance to make a comeback in limited overs sides. Though he was called as a backup keeper in overseas. MS Dhoni was always the first choice.

With MS Dhoni looking good to play till the upcoming World Cup 2019. Parthiv might not make it to the Indian side. Meanwhile, the likes of Rishabh Pant, Dinesh Karthik, Samson are eagerly waiting to fill those shoes.

In his career, Parthiv has played only 38 ODIS scoring 736 runs at an average of 23. Patel made a couple of brief comebacks in the 2011-12 period but failed to hold on to his place.

However, selectors haven’t neglected his performances in domestic circuit as he was called to feature in the red-ball format of the game.

3. Murali Vijay:

The classy Tamil Nadu cricketer, Murali Vijay has turned into a specialist Test batsman for India. Though Indian selectors tried to make him a regular in limited overs, he always messed up his chances.

Murali Vijay started his career as a swashbuckling opening batsman and showed his worth by knocking consistently for Chennai Super Kings. However, he slowly transformed into the Test batsman and was labelled as a test specialist.

His glorious form in Tests pushed selectors to give him one final chance in 2015. However, he was a failure in that as well. All those innings have ended BCCI’s trust on Vijay in limited overs.

Murali Vijay managed to score only one fifty to his name in 17 ODI innings. His sorry career saw him scoring  339 runs at a poor average of 21.

However, under the current circumstances, it looks very unlikely for Murali Vijay to make a comeback in Indian ODI team. The youngsters like Mayank Agarwal, Prithvi Shaw are waiting for their chances with mammoth tallies.

2. Ishant Sharma:

The lanky Indian fast bowler, Ishant Sharma is the other superstar to make it to the list. He has been India’s trump card in test matches but unfortunately, couldn’t make an impact in ODI cricket.

The tall, lanky pacer from Delhi has been a heavyweight for India in test cricket. But, in white-ball formats, he is nowhere near penetrative. Ishant’s ODI career started off in a promising fashion but his inability to bowl in death overs saw the other side of the things for him.

Ishant Sharma was also featured against Australia when the visitors took him to the cleaners. The all-rounder James Faulkner changed the course of the game by attacking Ishant which ended his ODI career. His 80 ODIs have seen 115 wickets at an average of 31.

Currently, with Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar leading the pack alongside Umesh Yadav, the comeback of Ishant Sharma doesn’t look to be on the card in the near future.

1. Ravichandran Ashwin:

No one would have expected that Ravi Ashwin would be out from Indian ODI setup. The emergence of  Wrist spinners in the Indian cricket has made life tough for finger spinners.

Of late, the youngsters Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav are turning the tables for India at home and overseas conditions. With Virat trusting the duo, the chances for Ashwin looks bleak.

Though the bowling coach, Bharat Arun often termed that Ashwin is in the contention, the strong domination by the Wrist spinners and the backing of Washington Sundar in T20I looks like BCCI has moved on from Ashwin.

Surprisingly, Ashwin never registered a five-wicket haul in his 111-ODI career. However, he was always a wicket-taker for India with 150 scalps in his backpack.

At once, Ravichandran Ashwin was considered a very crafty white-ball spinner when he arrived on to the international scene but after 2015 WC, he was faded out.
