Cricket Australia sold their television broadcast rights to Fox Networks, as opposed to their four-decade-long association with Channel Nine Networks. Popular Big Bash League (BBL) commentator, Adam Gilchrist becomes first of the many signings of Fox Networks from Channel Nine.

For next six summers of Australian Cricket, Fox Networks will host all the action Down Under.
“Sport has been a major part of my life, as a player and now a commentator, so to join a network that is 100 percent focused on the sport is something I am extremely excited about,” Adam Gilchrist told Fox.
The former world-cup winner further stated he could not wait to join his new family at Fox.
“Fox Sports’ new partnership with cricket has seen a big commitment to the game — a game that I clearly love — and I can’t wait to be a part of the family,” added the West Australian.
In conclusion, Gilchrist felt the new association with the network would benefit the game of cricket, with its extensive coverage.

“It’s a changed landscape for cricket coverage in this country, where viewers have more choice and more variety than ever — and this will be great for the game,” concludes Adam Gilchrist.
Also, the CEO of Foxtel and Fox Sports, Patrick Delany, hoped the addition of Gilly would set high benchmarks.
“Gilly is one of the most loved cricketers of all time. He will lead the Fox Cricket coverage working across all three forms of the game,” said Delany.
