With the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League having come to an end, fans, as well as former cricketers, have been busy preparing their best possible XI of the 13th season.

The likes of Aakash Chopra, Virender Sehwag, and Tom Moody have already unveiled their IPL 2020 XI.

The latest to join the bandwagon is the former Indian fast bowler-turned commentator, Ajit Agarkar.

Agarkar recently picked his best possible IPL XI and while it was largely on expected lines barring one or two notable exclusions.

The winner of ‘Orange Cap’ for the 2020 season, KXIP skipper KL Rahul did not find a place in Ajit Agarkar’s IPL XI as the former fast bowler went with pair of Shikhar Dhawan and David Warner.

Dhawan and Warner were the second and third-highest run-getters in the season with 618 and 548 runs respectively.

“The XI which I have picked has Warner and Shikhar Dhawan to open,” Agarkar said in a video posted by Star Sports on their YouTube channel.

As far as the middle-order, Agarkar went with two uncapped Indian cricketers in Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav, both of whom ruled the roost this IPL season courtesy of consistent performances for the Mumbai Indians.

AB de Villiers was one of the few shining lights for RCB this season and the former Proteas captain found himself at the 5th spot in Ajit Agarkar’s IPL XI.

Hardik Pandya and Marcus Stoinis, who was brilliant with both bat and ball for the Delhi Capitals this season, filled the all-rounder’s spot.

Rashid Khan did not find a place for himself in Agarkar’s XI nor did Jofra Archer as the former fast bowler went with the duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Varun Chakravarthy as two spinners and the two leading wicket-takers in the tournament in Kagiso Rabada (30) and Jasprit Bumrah (27) as his pace bowling arsenal.
