The 12th match of Carribean Premier League (CPL) took place between Trinbago Knight Riders and Jamaica Tallawahs. Lauderhill, Florida was the venue of this match.

Summary of the match

Knight Riders while winning the toss opted to bowl first. It proved a right decision from their skipper, DJ Bravo as Riders got the wicket of Kunnar Lewis early in the inning. Lewis could only score a run, and it was Khary Pierre who got the breakthrough.

Pierre gave the second breakthrough in the quick succession as well when Steven Taylor handed over a simple catch to Javon Searles. Taylor scored just eight runs.

However, Glenn Phillips once again played a heroic knock in this CPL edition from Jamaica Tallawahs as he added 112 runs with David Miller.

The fourth-wicket partnership was the vital one for the Tallawahs as they lost the plot soon after Phillips fell prey of DJ Bravo. Phillips scored 80 off 55 balls with the help of three boundaries and five sixes.

David Miller found a similar fate as that of Phillips as he played a hell of an inning. Miller scored unbeaten 72 of just 35 balls with the help of fives sixes and the same number of boundaries. Jamaica Tallawahs wrapped up their total after getting 182 for the loss of five wickets.

A sketch of chase

In reply to the chase of 183, Imad Wasim dented the chase by removing opening batsman of Knight Riders, Sunil Narine. Narine was out for a three-ball duck.

Chris Lynn was the next man to go after becoming the victim of an error of judgment between Colin Munro and himself. After his dismissal, Knight Riders were 10 for the loss of two wickets.

Within the shorter interval, Riders lost their third wicket in the form of Brendon McCullum who scored just eight runs.

However, Colin Munro alongside Darren Bravo added 107 partnership for the fourth wicket that helped Riders to get back in the game.

Colin Munro scored 67 before Andre Russell castled him. His 67-run knock included four sixes and the same number of fours. On the other hand, Bravo scored 50 off 35 balls before Imad got his second victim.

DJ Bravo played an excellent cameo of 36 off 11 balls as Trinbago Knight Riders won the game by four wickets.
