India banked on yet another clinical performance to continue their winning momentum as they routed England by eight wickets to go 1-0 up in the three-match One-day International series at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham.

Batting first, England got off to a blinder banking on Jason Roy and Jonny Bairstow. The pair took the advantage of the new ball to smash it all around the park as they bowlers went in search of the leather.

However, since the introduction of spin bowling, it was a whole new story with Kuldeep Yadav dominating the proceedings.

The young spinner Kuldeep bagged six wickets in his full quota to rattle the English batting order.

Jos Buttler used all his experience from the Indian Premier League (IPL) to negate the spin to bring another half-century. His patient knock of 53 runs helped the hosts put 268 runs on the board.

It was a cakewalk for the visitors with Shikhar Dhawan providing a blistering start. Although he departed scoring 40 runs off 27 deliveries, Virat Kohli picked up exactly from there.

Kohli (75)  then partnered Rohit Sharma, who has been in brilliant touch to take his team close to the winning lines. Furthermore, KL and Rohit took their team home with 59 balls to spare.

Here is the players rating of the Indian Cricket team:

Rohit Sharma continued his good as he complimented his unbeaten century in Bristol with another century.

Virat Kohli played some gorgeous looking shots on his way to scoring 75 runs including seven boundaries. He looked absolutely fluent driving the ball through the covers.

His form will certainly keep the management excited for the rest of the English tour.

KL Rahul remained unbeaten on runs as India overhauled the target.

The batsman from Karnataka has been in the form of his life and will look to make this opportunity count.

SURESH RAINA (2/10):

Suresh Raina had no major role to play on his comeback game apart from bagging a catch to dismiss dangerous Eoin Morgan.

Meanwhile, Raina will be keen to score some runs and cement his place in the ODI team.

Mahendra Singh DHONI (4/10):

Mahendra Singh Dhoni didn’t get an opportunity to bat, however, was brilliant with the gloves. He grabbed a stunning catch and was also involved in a runout.

However, he will be keen to get some runs under his belt.

Hardik Pandya gave away 47 runs in his seven overs and returned without a wicket.

Kuldeep Yadav is surprising everybody with each outing. He led the bowling attack returning with six wickets, the most by a wrist spinner in an ODI match.

The management would want Kuldeep to continue his devastating form.

SIDDARTH KAUL (4.5/10):

Siddarth Kaul had a wicketless debut returning with none for 62 in his quota of ten overs.

However, this will be a learning curve for the young seamer and he will only grow from here.

UMESH YADAV (6/10):

Although he bagged two wickets, Umesh Yadav went for 70 odd runs in 9.5 overs.

He will have to take more responsibility in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah.

Yuzvendra Chahal had an average game going 51 runs in his 10 overs and returning with one wicket.
