One day after England’s men team achieved the highest total of 481 runs in the ODI format, England Women team followed their men team’s footsteps.

England opener, Tammy Beaumont smashed 116 runs off 52 balls to power her team to the highest T20I score of 250 runs. Tammy’s blistering knock included 18 fours and six maximums.

Thus, England went past New Zealand record of 216 runs for the highest total in Women T20I.

Interestingly, New Zealand Women team had achieved the highest T20I score on the same day against the South African team. Furthermore, New Zealand women team had scored the highest ODI score of 490 runs a couple of days ago.

However, Blackcaps highest T20I total stood for some hours, as England improved it against South Africa. Thus, the Proteas bowlers had a rough day, as they two highest scores in the T20I form were scored against them.

England opening partnership of Danielle Wyatt and Tammy Beaumont provided a perfect platform to their side. The right-handed openers put together an alliance of 147 runs in only 13 overs. Thus, the English team had put their noses in front in the first innings. Wyatt scored a brisk 56 off 36 balls to get England off to a flyer.

Furthermore, Natalie Sciver and Katherine Brunt provided the perfect finishing touches to the England side. Sciver scored a quickfire 33 off just 15 balls, whereas, Brunt rushed to 42 runs off 16 balls.

In reply to England’s gargantuan total, the South African team could not hit the ground running. The Proteas managed only 129 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Thus, the Rainbow Nation lost by a massive margin of 121 runs.

New Zealand Women team is the third team in the tri-series. Moreover, the Kiwis also won their match against South Africa.
