T20 World Cup 2021: Imran Khan Backs The Pakistan Team To Defeat India Tomorrow
Former Pakistan skipper and current Prime Minister, Imran Khan, believes that the current batch of players has the talent and skill to defeat India tomorrow. The two teams are set to meet each other in their first match of the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup.
Both teams had good warmup matches heading into the key clash. There were certain chinks in either team’s armory that could well be exposed when the arch-rivals face off tomorrow. Ahead of the high-voltage clash, Imran Khan said:
“This team has the talent to defeat India. Insha’Allah, Pakistan will definitely beat India tomorrow.“
Pakistan has been unable to defeat India in a World Cup match ever since its establishment. They trail the Men in Blue by 0-5 in head-to-head games but have a chance to register their first win tomorrow.
“Records are meant to be broken” – Babar Azam ahead of India clash
The last time the two teams met in an ICC event, India comfortably defeated Pakistan in a rain-curtailed match. However, Pakistan skipper and in-form batsman Babar Azam exuded confidence ahead of the match against India.
“To be honest, what has passed is beyond us. We want to use our ability and confidence on the day of the match so that we can get a better result. Records are meant to be broken. The matches between Pakistan and India are always full of intensity so we need to perform well in all three departments of the game,” Babar said in a virtual press conference on Saturday.
The two teams will square off at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Sunday. The match will be the second of the day, with Sri Lanka taking on Bangladesh in the afternoon encounter.
