IRE vs NED Prediction, Who Will Win The Match Between Ireland and Netherlands? ICC T20 World Cup Match No 3. Netherlands and Ireland will play the third match of the ICC World Cup 2021 on Monday at Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium.
Notably, both sides have played against each other twice in the history of the T20 World Cup and Netherland beat Ireland on both occasions. On Monday, Netherland will have a chance to make it three in a row.
There is no denying that they have the potential to do that. Netherland boasts of experienced campaigners in their squad, namely Ackermann, Logan Van Beek, Ryan Ten Doeschate and Van der Merwe. The Netherlands are coming into this encounter on the back of a four-run win over Oman in a warm-up fixture against Oman. All the batsmen in the top-five made substantial contributions and helped the team notch a 165-run total in the first innings.
The opener, Myburgh starred with the bat as he set the tone with a 43 off 38 balls. Later Ben Cooper played a handy 40-run knock of 28 balls to guide the team to a competitive score.
Oman also fought well with the bat in the second innings but eventually fell just 4 runs short of the target. For the Netherlands, Vivian Kingma took 2 wickets, while Ackermann, Logan Van Beek and Tim van der Gugten picked one wicket each. Netherland would be hopeful of a better bowling performance against Ireland on Monday.
Facing them are Ireland, which have grown leaps and bounds, over the last decade. Ireland are currently 13th in the ICC T20 rankings and would be looking to produce a strong show in the perennial tournament. They have won both the warm-up fixtures leading up to the encounter on Monday.
On the other hand, Ireland are in pretty good form, of late. They are currently ranked thirteenth in the ICC T20 rankings. They are coming into this fixture on the back of two consecutive wins in the last two warm-up games.
They played their last warm-up fixture against Bangladesh only to stun them with a 33-run win. Riding on an exceptional 88-run knock from Gareth Bellany, Ireland posted 177 run-total in the first innings. Sterling (22 off 16) and Balbirnie (25 off 22) also made decent contributions.
The bowlers also bowled exceptionally well in the second innings. They bowled at great areas and didn’t allow the batsmen to score freely. Regular wickets in short intervals meant Bangladesh failed to develop partnerships and managed only 144 runs in the end.
Craig Young and Joshua Little bowled beautifully in the powerplay as well as death overs, picked two wickets each. Simmi Singh and Mark Adair kept the batsmen silent in the middle overs. The latter finished with the best figures of 3 for 33 in 4 overs.
