Former Indian batsman Sachin Tendulkar was the latest to come out in support of Indian pacer, Mohammad Shami. The latter had a terrible day in the field during India’s crucial match against Pakistan in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup.

Following the tough day in the office, Shami was mercilessly trolled and abused by a certain section of the Indian ‘fans’. It got out of hand much too quickly and several former Indian players came out in support of the 30-year-old.

The latest to join is Tendulkar, who asserted Shami’s credibility at the highest level. He also pointed out that any player can have an off day since it’s a sport being played by human beings after all and mistakes are part and parcel of the game.

When we support #TeamIndia, we support every person who represents Team India. @MdShami11 is a committed, world-class bowler. He had an off day like any other sportsperson can have. I stand behind Shami & Team India,” Tendulkar’s tweet.

Here’s Sachin Tendulkar’s tweet in support of Mohammad Shami:

The 10-wicket victory for Pakistan was its first-ever win against India in World Cups. Prior to the game, India had an immaculate 12-0 record against their arch-rivals but the streak was finally broken in a one-sided game at the Dubai Stadium.

Shaheen Afridi starred with the ball for Pakistan, earning the Man of the Match award for his figures of 3/31. The target of 152 was then chased without a fuss by the openers, Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan, to complete a satisfying win on the night.
