Harbhajan Singh shared his thoughts on the incident involving David Warner, where the Aussie opener smashed a six off Mohammad Hafeez’s delivery which bounced twice before reaching the batsman.
During the run chase, Hafeez came on to bowl and his first delivery went haywire. He completely lost control as it slipped out of his hand and bounced twice before reaching Warner. Seeing the opportunity present itself, Warner danced down and smashes the ball for an 87-meter monstrous six.
While the shot was completely allowed and legal going by the cricketing books, several former players debated on whether it was against the spirit of the game. Gautam Gambhir felt so as he sarcastically criticized Warner for the ‘poor display of sportsmanship’.

While Harbhajan clearly feels that Warner is within his rights to do so, it didn’t look good on the sportsmanship front.
“Though it was within the rules, it should not have happened. It doesn’t convey a good message. We have also got a similar chance in the past but we didn’t do that,” Harbhajan said.
It was an eventful day for Warner on the night, as he scored a 30-ball 49 and set up a decent platform for the Aussies. The opener’s dismissal was equally bizarre, as he walked off after being adjudged caught behind when in fact, the replays suggested there was daylight between the bat and ball.
