Australia’s star batter Steve Smith got to his ton after being on 95 runs at the end of Day 1. Steve Smith along with Travis Head slowly were getting into the groove on a track that wasn’t assisting the pacers much.

Mohammed Siraj launched a short ball barrage and got the key wicket of Travis Head. Travis Head tried to counter-attack but gave the catch to the wicket-keeper KS Bharat and was dismissed on 163 runs in 174 balls as there was carnage at The Oval.

Steve Smith was dismissed on 121 runs in 268 balls and struck 19 fours. Aussies still have the services of Cummins & Starc as the duo have the knack of playing effective cameos for the team as the first innings score in excess of 450 runs would be a challenging one.
