ENG vs IND: England’s Predicted Playing XI Against India, 2nd ODI

England will lock horns with India in the 2nd ODI of the ongoing series. ENG vs IND 2nd ODI will take place on July 14 (Thursday). The venue of the encounter is Lord’s Stadium in London. England is led by Jos Buttler in ENG vs IND ODI series.

Rohit Sharma is the skipper of India in the series. England lost the 1st ODI by 10 wickets. Now they need to win the 2nd ODI to make a comeback in the three-match ODI series. Ahead of ENG vs IND 2nd ODI, here we take a look at England’s predicted playing XI in the match.

Although England witnessed their one of the worst days on the field in the 1st ODI, they might still stick with the same playing XI in the 2nd ODI as they had the strongest playing XI in the match. Hence, Jason Roy might open the innings for England in the 2nd ODI as well. The right-handed batsman has struggled to bat in the series, which was seen in the T20I series too. It is high time that Roy comes up with a good knock.

Jonny Bairstow

Jonny Bairstow might be another opener for England in the ENG vs IND 2nd ODI. The right-handed batsman opened the innings in the 1st ODI. However, he could only score 7 runs before losing his wicket. Bairstow executed a fabulous performance in the Test match and owns a good form. He will aim to get a good start for the team in the next game.

Joe Root might be another batsman for the team in the ENG vs IND 2nd ODI. Root returned to the field in ODIs after a long time. However, his start did not go well as he got out for a duck. Root showed good form in the Test match against India and will look to come up with a good performance in the next game.

Ben Stokes might be an all-rounder for England in the 2nd ODI as well. Stokes got out for a duck in the 1st ODI. He led the team to victory against India in the Test match. Stokes is in a good form as he picked a 4-wicket haul in the Test match. He will look to come up with a better show with both bat and ball in the next game.

Jos Buttler is the captain of England in the series and will lead the team in the 2nd ODI as well. In the 1st ODI, Buttler scored the most 30 runs for the team. However, he has struggled to bat well in the series, which was seen in the T20I series as well. Buttler needs to come up with a better show to lead his team to victory against India.

Liam Livingstone might be another middle-order batsman for the team in ENG vs IND 2nd ODI. Livingstone got out for a duck in the previous game. He played a good knock of 42 runs in one of the T20Is before. Livingstone is a hard-hitting batsman and needs to come up with a good batting show for his team.

Moeen Ali

Moeen Ali might be an all-rounder for England in ENG vs IND 2nd ODI. Moeen Ali scored 14 runs in the 1st ODI. He also bowled 2 overs but did not manage to get any wickets. Ali showed good form in the T20I series and will be a crucial player for the team. He will also be a crucial spinner for the team.

David Willey might be another all-rounder for the team in ENG vs IND 2nd ODI. The left-handed batsman scored 21 runs for the team in the 1st ODI. With the ball, he bowled 3 overs and conceded 8 runs. Willey will aim to get more wickets in the next match and help his team with batting.

Craig Overton might be one of the pacers for the team in the next match. The right-arm pacer bowled 4 overs in the last match and conceded 34 runs. Like others, he was unable to get any wickets in the match. He will aim to get wickets in the 2nd ODI where he will hopefully have more runs to defend on the board.

Brydon Carse might be another pacer for England in ENG vs IND 2nd ODI game. The right-arm pacer scored 15 runs for the team in the 1st ODI. However, he could not get any success with his primary job of bowling. He bowled 3.4 overs in the match and conceded 38 runs at an economy of 10.40. Carse will seek to come up with a better economy rate and more wickets in the next game.
