India National Cricket Team batters Deepak Hooda and Sanju Samson batted exceptionally well for Hardik Pandya-led side in the second T20I of the two-match T20I series against Ireland National Cricket Team on Tuesday, June 28 at The Village, Dublin.

The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson got the opportunity to open the innings for India after Ruturaj Gaikwad was ruled out of the second T20I. The left-handed opening batter Ishan Kishan got dismissed on the first ball of the 3rd over when India were at 13.

After Kishan’s dismissal Hooda joined Samson out in middle and they had a remarkable partnership. The Hooda-Samson duo had a 176 runs partnership in just 87 balls with Samson contributing 67 runs off 34 balls and Hooda contributing 98 runs off 53 deliveries.

The 176-run partnership between Sanju Samson and Deepak Hooda is the highest for any wicket for India in T20 Internationals and the 9th highest in all men’s T20Is.

Also, the 176-run partnership between Hooda and Samson is the highest second-wicket partnership in men’s T20Is in the world.

Meanwhile, Deepak Hooda scored a marvellous century in the match. He scored 104 runs off 57 balls and his innings was filled with 9 amazing fours and 6 sensational sixes. He was dismissed by Joshua Little on the last ball of the 18th over.

Also, wicketkeeper-batsman Sanju Samson scored 77 runs off 42 balls, including 9 brilliant fours and 4 incredible sixes. With the help of sensational knocks by Hooda and Samson, India were able to score post 225/7 on the board and this score by India is the second-highest score against Ireland by any side.

It is preceded by only 252/3 which Scotland scored. Also, Ireland batters did a great job in the match while chasing the target. However, they lost the match by 4 runs as they were able to post 221/5 on the board.
