IND vs SA: Virat Kohli Is Getting Better And Will Be Fit Very Soon, Reveals Cheteshwar Pujara

Cheteshwar Pujara opened up about Virat Kohli’s fitness during a media interaction after day 3 of the ongoing India vs South Africa 2nd Test in Johannesburg. The middle-order batsman Pujara revealed that the India Test skipper is getting better and will be fit very soon.
Ahead of IND vs SA 2nd Test at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg, Virat Kohli sustained an upper back spasm due to which he was not part of the playing XI. In absence of Kohli, the team is being led by KL Rahul in the Test. Hanuma Vihari has replaced Kohli in the match.

I Feel Virat Kohli Will Be Fit Very Soon: Cheteshwar Pujara
During a media interaction after the completion of day 3 of IND vs SA 2nd Test, Cheteshwar Pujara informed about Virat Kohli’s status. The right-handed batsman feels that Kohli is getting better and will be fit soon.
“Officially I cannot reveal anything more but now he (Kohli) is definitely getting better and I feel that he will be fit very soon. The exact status on his fitness would come from team physio,” Cheteshwar Pujara said.
During the toss, KL Rahul had revealed that Kohli has sustained a spasm in the upper back due to which he was not able to play the 2nd Test. Rahul also mentioned that Kohli is expected to get fit ahead of the 3rd Test, which will commence on January 11 in Cape Town. Virat Kohli scored 35 and 18 in the 1st Test.
Meanwhile, South Africa needs 122 more runs to win in the ongoing India vs South Africa 2nd Test. At the stumps of day 3, South Africa reached 118-2 on the scoreboard while chasing a 240-run target set by India. Dean Elgar and Rassie van der Dussen hold the strike currently with unbeaten 46 and 11 respectively.
Earlier in the 1st innings, India batted first and posted 202-10 on the scoreboard with KL Rahul smashing a half-century (50). South Africa replied with 229 all-out with a 62-run knock by Keegan Petersen and 51 by Temba Bavuma. With a 27-run lead, South Africa bowled out India for 266 in the 2nd innings, with Cheteshwar Pujara (53) and Ajinkya Rahane (58) smashing half-centuries.
