Chennai Super Kings (CSK) captain Ravindra Jadeja was expectedly distraught after the team’s fourth consecutive loss in the IPL 2022 season. CSK was defeated comprehensively by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who opened their account with an 8-wicket win.

After restricting CSK to just 154 in the first innings, SRH managed to chase it down with over two overs to spare. Abhishek Sharma showcased his true potential as he smashed a 50-ball 75, studded with 5 fours and 3 sixes.

Although the total was below par, the bowling from CSK was underwhelming. Jadeja pointed out that they were short by a few runs but the bowling attack has been a letdown, especially in the absence of Deepak Chahar.

It’s with the ball that we are disappointed but we were 20-25 runs short. We were looking to fight till the end. 155 isn’t bad and our bowlers were looking to take wickets.

Tomorrow might be a day off but we’ll look to improve. We’ll talk about where we are lacking. We are professionals and need to work hard, stick together and come back stronger,” Jadeja said at the post-match presentation ceremony.

With the loss, CSK has now lost four consecutive games for the second time in their IPL history. The only other instance was back in 2010 when they ended up winning the IPL trophy.

As for SRH, they now have 2 points and moved to eighth place on the points table. They will be playing against the undefeated Gujarat Titans in their next match on Monday.

Final Scores:

CSK – 154/7 in 20 overs
SRH – 155/2 in 17.4 overs
